about us

Hi, I'm Angie, the flower lover behind Rumer Blooms.  I was born and raised in south central Iowa, and I love living in the community where I grew up. I'm so excited to bring seasonal, fresh, locally-grown flowers to this area.

I am a homebody, I always have snacks with me wherever I go, I nerd out on birds, and I love spreadsheets.  I'm a warm weather girl; I run on sunshine and fresh air.

I'm the chief grower at Rumer Blooms, but I could not do it without Chris, the chief builder around here.  We've been together since high school and married for...let's just say...a lot of years.  He brings all my crazy ideas to life and is always up for a good project.

our story

I've always loved growing things, but it wasn't until recently that having a flower farm hit my radar.  For 25+ years, I've enjoyed having a vegetable garden and a few years ago began starting my own vegetable plants and sharing them with family and friends.  During the long, cold Iowa winters, starting plants in the spring extended the growing season and brought me so much joy while I waited for planting season to arrive.

A few years ago, I started dedicating a small area of my vegetable garden to cut flowers - mostly zinnias and snapdragons.  I loved being able to cut flowers to have in the house and share with loved ones who had summer birthdays.  I think that's where the "seed" of a flower farm started.  I started devouring information on cut flowers and flower farms, and I was hooked on the idea and in the summer of 2022, Rumer Blooms was born.

Plans for 2025 are well underway.  We are excited to share more blooms with the local community through our roadside flower stand, plus on-farm events, workshops, and more.
